One of the exciting things about this first week with Ian & Step Into Life Labrador has been the unknown, Once again quoting Forrest - Life is like a box of chocolates -you never know what your gonna get. I have been pretty routined in my training for the last 8 months, I do the same sets & days each week. All of a sudden, I am training with the unknown factor. I know that I am going for a "CardioMax" session but exactly what I am going to get I have no idea, and I kind of like that!Walking onto the oval tonight I spotted cones in an oval setup, and some soccer balls. Having heard of Ian's love for Soccer, it didn't surprise me when our first few exercises involved some soccer!! As we jogged off around the oval, and later in the session sprinted around the oval thoughts went through my head like.... when was the last time you ran, on an oval, on grass??? At that moment I was no longer 36 years old and 118 kg. Suddenly I was 15 again, running on a school oval. I had to only think about one thing - running at my pace, pushing it, and enjoying it. No expectations, no mortgage, just ME!
The most crazy thing is I used to think exercise was all about burning the fat. Fighting to fit it in, never regretting a workout, but often thinking I really should be doing something else like housework or homework or book work. But you know what the most important lesson about these sessions is: Its importance is up there with HOUSEwork, BOOKwork, PAPERwork, ...... but its more important then all of them its MEwork!
