Here we are its Sunday night, and I am getting my laugh on, whilst watching Kath n Kim. Which isn't very hard to do when your a foxy moron. HAHA.
So lets be honest.... the end of this week I started to think that someone had moved a mountain in front of me, and that it might have been easier just to turn around & take myself back home. I checked my weight on Friday & noted softly that my previous days of brutal honesty, were now appearing honestly on the scales. Been there before, nodding your head, yes I know its part of life, and the important thing is not to be held down by it, but to rise above it.

So bring on Saturday - time to cut the fat. No excuses. Thanks to the intervention by Bek the previous evening, and some late night baking on my behalf I had a little time up my sleeve for that dreaded weights session at gym. As I have changed gyms, its taken me a few weeks to get my courage up to do a session there. SO bit the bullet, off I went, and yes it hurt A lot! My muscles sent me a message to say how much it hurt. Good news was it was a quickie session, so plenty of time for a quick cuppa with a friend before Touch Footy, and birthday celebrations.
This morning I was torn ..... what to do, what not to do. The "girls" my close friends were all off to race in the Tomewin Mountain Challenge. I hadn't registered, as I was planning on being somewhere else that day. Plans had fallen through, and I was going to go as a Spectator, but ended up worrying about Al being home with 6 kids & the early rise after such a full on week. So I decided to stop home. Congratulations to all of them though, as they are all amazing. Look forward to our next challenge together. I am aiming for Pinkies in late October 5km run without stopping!!

BUT it was far from a sleep in. I woke Al & said I had to go to 'Running', he complained that I was waking him, a little bit of reverse psychology later, I was being told to hurry up and get up lol. As he is deaf he can't hear anything when sleeping. it was time to Step Into.... Ian's Labrador Step Into Life Sunday Endurance Session. I was "Out for a bit of Huffy Puffy" to quote my idol Kath Knight. It was a lot warmer then the previous week, but I also knew what I was in for. The one thing I love about this Sessions is even though I am always the last runner, well most of the time. I work between a Stage 4 walk with arms up, and a jog. Light posts, Trees, Lamp Posts are my running targets, or whatever Ian sets when he comes back to me. There is method in his madness, and already after one week I can see the difference. I actually enjoy being the tail end of the runners.... I think it made me a lot more determined this week to run more. Proof was in the pudding: Todays session results are 7.29km - 1:08:56 - 633kCal. It was great to see the improvement, and once again support was incredible from the other members. The encouraging words and high 5's especially from Renee & Tracey made my morning. I am going to get closer and closer to 10km running soon. Especially with the improvements in a week. I really did feel stronger, and more in control of my breathing & style today. Also had another first today: A quick cuppa at La Cloche... at the Step Into Life table. I was great to chill out. I even went back there with a friend, and had breakfast. Very busy, and very yummy! Might re-add one ear of tunes for the run next week, but I do enjoy the sounds of the morning. Just be careful and not look up at the apartment buildings as a fellow Step Into Lifer found out today.... some love to do their chores in their underwear.... Great weather for it lol. Best to remain focused on the path next time.

Tomorrows blog will be all the low down on nutrition which officially jump starts tomorrow. So Jacs Next Step continues with little steps every day. Sometimes I do a little jogging on the spot, but generally I am on the move. Tomorrow night is another session at Labrador Step Into Life.....BRING IT ON! Oh yes.... also doing the short work week dance.... WOOOOHOOO!
